About us

Útlagi is a young publishing house passionate about Normandy and the Nordic world. Its ambition is to introduce French-speaking audiences to the richness of these cultures through translations of previously unpublished texts.

Behind Útlagi are two enthusiasts of the Norman and Scandinavian worlds, both graduates in Nordic studies. After several years working as guides in Norway's stave churches and translating texts from the North, we decided to found our own publishing house.

Our ambition: to introduce French-speaking readers to the richness of Scandinavian and Norman literature. From medieval sagas to 19th-century Scandinavian authors, including folk tales and stories of Norman history and legends, we want to build a bridge between Normandy and Scandinavia, through words and centuries.
